Friends of the Boundary Waters Action Network works to elect leaders to state and federal office who will stand up for the Boundary Waters, clean water, and strong environmental protections.

We want the best people representing us at every level of government — and we know it takes a lot of work to get them there. We engage in elections in three main ways: endorsing and promoting candidates to supporters and the general public, talking with voters at their doors or on the phone, and donating to endorsed candidates.

Direct voter contact is the most impactful work we can do to elect good people, so we recruit as many volunteers as possible for door-knocking and phone-banking events. We also make financial contributions through our BWCA PAC to priority candidates, helping them spread their message far and wide. Our goal is simple: make sure everyone knows which candidates will protect clean water and the Boundary Waters — and make sure those voters have a plan to get to the polls in November.

Getting good people elected is more important than ever. Since the 2024 election, the threats to the Boundary Waters keep mounting. Please join us — sign up for an upcoming event and make a difference.

We're proud to support every candidate we endorse this cycle, but a few will need special attention to get across the finish line. If you'd like to make a difference for these candidates, reach out to Community Organizer Marta Ditzler to learn more about how to get involved.
